More on the defense of Boy Scouts of America
From the Allentown, PA MORNING CALL, yesterday:
It seems the Scouting establishment has a policy against putting a teenage boy and a teenage girl in a tent for the night. Nobody has made a fuss over that policy, but there has been a big fuss, for five years now, over the [Philadelphia Council's] reluctance to put an openly gay Boy Scout in that tent with another boy.Mr. Paul Carpenter's piece is required reading for all concerned in the ongoing attempts to evict the Boy Scouts of America's Cradle of Liberty Council from their 80 year old building in Philadelphia.
This piece does not address the various legal issues I pointed out previously, but it goes far to silent those who would suggest BSA is some form of hate group.
